Lapford village is just off the A377, which runs from Exeter to Barnstaple.  Lapford is about halfway, 8 miles north-west of Crediton. If you turn off the A377 into Lapford, you will cross two bridges over the river and railway, pass Lapford Mill on your right and then start climbing up Mill Hill, where the road turns sharply to the right.  Continue up through the village, passing the Post Office on your left, then the Village Shop and the Parish Church opposite the Old Malt Scoop pub on the right.  Stay on the main road up past the butchers and then out into open country.  After about half a mile, you will come to a cream-coloured house (‘Blackberry Gate’) on the right of a bend.  Immediately after this, turn into the farm lane on your right, and you will see our bungalow.  Turn into the driveway – backing in is easiest!
If you are coming from further east, the simplest route is probably via Tiverton and Withleigh, taking the cross-country road that just misses Witheridge and passes the Thelbridge Cross Inn.  Signposts to Lapford off this road will bring you to Lower and Higher Forches Cross, where Lapford is signposted as one mile away.  As you come down the hill, turn left into the first farm lane (not field gate!) that you come to, and the bungalow is on the right at the top of the lane.  You should see our boards at the end of the lane.
